Fourth Annual Law Rocks Washington DC
Nonprofit organization that hosts legal professionals in battle of the bands fundraising concerts around the world returns to Washington DC to enthusiastic response

Washington DC – Law Rocks, alongside presenting sponsor Venable LLP, is hosting the Fourth Annual Law Rocks Washington DC this Thursday, September 13. Nine bands of musically talented legal professionals representing over 20 law firms will rock out for local charities. Held at the acclaimed 9:30 Club, the night has already raised over $80,000.

The event will be emceed by Loo Katz, owner, CEO & DJ of Hound Radio and a fixture on the DC radio airwaves for over four decades. Reigning champs Noise in the Basement of Venable will battle against five returning and three new bands. The concert features legal professionals from AFL-CIO; Alliance for Green Heat; Amazon Web Services; ASRC Federal; Baker & McKenzie; Bloomberg Law; Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Concept Law; DC Superior Court; Fannie Mae; General Dynamics Mission Systems; Humanity United; Merchant Link; National Music Publisher’s Association; Norton Rose Fulbright; Perkins Coie; Rader Group; Shulman Rogers; Skadden; Starr, Gern, Davison & Rubin; Sterne Kessler Goldstein & Fox; US Government; and Venable.

“DC is always a blast,” says Law Rocks Director of Marketing and Development, Omi Crawford. “The bands are amazing and the 9:30 Club is pretty much the perfect venue.” The nine participating bands are fundraising to benefit area charities Cheyenne River Youth Project (CRYP), Doorways for Women and Families, Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund (FEEA), HomeAid Northern Virginia, Legal Aid Justice Center, Martha's Table, Sentinels of Freedom, and Together We Bake. A representative from each organization will appear at the event to introduce the bands.

In addition to presenting Hall of Fame sponsor, Venable, the event is made possible by sponsors Alliance for Green Heat; Burney Wealth Management; Jenner & Block; Sterne

The winning band will be selected by four factors: donations raised, tickets and sponsorships, audience favorite, and Rock Panel of Judges score. There will also be special recognition for the band with the highest marks from the Rock Panel of Judges. The Rock Panel includes Shawn Dailey, recording and touring musician; Jim Ebert, music producer; Elliot Berke, managing partner of Berke Farah; Zeke Roeser, principal at Roeser Law Firm; and Beverly Davis, Davis Law PLLC founder.

After seeing success from the first concert in London 2009, Law Rocks brought the event to the United States in 2012 and tours to Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City in addition to Washington DC.

As an organization, Law Rocks Global has raised over 2.5 million dollars for various nonprofits across the world.
