Judges’ Choice Award: The Overcommitments for Trees for Houston (featuring legal talent from Chamberlain Hrdlicka)

The evening was hot, but the bands were even hotter, burning up the stage high-octane rock covers and shredding guitar solos at The Fifth Annual Law Rocks Houston on Thursday, April 10, 2025. From killer costumes and a custom mic stand fit for a rock warrior, to bubble machines, and flashing flower leis, the evening’s bands wowed and engaged the crowd in a way that truly defined our description of "lawyers-turned rock stars"! All five bands came to impress, and did exactly that, keeping the crowd at White Oak Music Hall screaming for more - and raising over $129K in the process!
The Houston legal community continues to impress, and we are grateful to everyone who came out to rock with us and support our night of giving. Huge thanks to this year’s performing bands, the White Oak team; the Rock Panel of Judges: Scott Davidson & Charlie San Miguel; Shakeatha Davis; and Dr. Ana Treviño-Godfrey; our host Valerie Ojeda; and our nonprofit guests. The evening was made possible thanks to tour sponsor Secretariat and additional sponsors Chamberlain Hrdlicka; Latham & Watkins; McDowell Hetherington; Andrews Myers; Baker & O’Brien; BrownRudnick; and IST Management Services. Sponsorships help make our events possible, and we are grateful to all for their support!
Thank you for another epic show, Houston. We can’t wait to come back again next year!
Please consider making a contribution to support Law Rocks World Tour and ensure we keep rocking the globe for years to come!

Rocking for Lone Star Legal Aid
We are three dudes who peaked in college turning their mild inconveniences into songs that sound exactly like Incubus. The band equivalent of saying "it's the little things" on an inspirational Instagram post. Your Honor, we move to enter these sick riffs into evidence: Little Victories.

Rocking for Belong Kitchen
The origins of One Bad Crash date back to the early 21st Century. After earning their stripes on the famed Garden Oaks Touring Circuit, delighting revelers at backyard birthday parties, crawfish boils, and sangria festivals, they brought their rock-n-roll stylings to the Heights area, and later ventured out to tame the hinterlands of the I-10 West corridor. Controversy followed them for a time, as they were once banned from a Katy venue for playing a Talking Heads song. One Bad Crash look forward to seeing you at Law Rocks in 2025 and beyond!
One Bad Crash are proud to represent Belong Kitchen, a neighborhood grab-n-go kitchen that employs adults with intellectual and developmental differences. The band is comprised of Trent Carlyle (vocalist and expert witness), Greg St. Denis (guitarist and consumer of legal services), Eric Gillaspie (percussionist and in-house counsel), David Winston (bassist and in-house counsel), and special guest Mike King (guitarist and partner at Latham & Watkins).

Rocking for Trees For Houston
A bunch of family men with too many projects, this band got started as a way to relax and have fun with our own favorite songs. None of us are pros but we all play, and when we get together it just fits. Rock to our collection of classics that don’t bend to a genre but which you’ll know and love. We look forward to rocking the house at White Oak and to sharing our fun with you at Law Rocks 2025!

We are proud the Fifth Annual Law Rocks Houston 2025 bands raised funds for the following organizations.
This proud Chicago native is best known for her vocal versatility, boundless energy and magnetic charisma on stage.
During the week, Valerie Ojeda travels the country, working as an On-Camera Host, Event Emcee, Trade Show Presenter and Automotive Product Specialist, representing top companies like Panasonic, Microsoft and 3M and Honda, just to name a few.
On weekends, she manages and sings lead vocals for the wildly successful cover band, “Anthem Road,” playing in casinos, resorts, conventions, wineries, private parties and outdoor festivals, throughout the country. Anthem Road has shared the stage with such iconic 80’s bands as Berlin and Warrant, as well as some of the top tribute bands in the world. Valerie’s favorite musical moments to date were meeting rock legends Pat Benatar, Kip Winger, Jerry Dixon and Billy Ocean, as well as singing with Terri Nunn at The Canyon Club and singing the National Anthem before a Slaughter concert.
For Valerie, being of service is the highest form of consciousness, so being able to give back to the local community, by being a part of Law Rocks, is an absolute dream come true!
