Fifth Annual Law Rocks San Francisco

Nonprofit organization that hosts legal professionals in battle of the bands fundraising concerts returns to San Francisco with special guest Jerry Harrison and friends.

San Francisco – Law Rocks, the nonprofit organization that hosts a global series of fundraising concerts starring bands of legal professionals, is presenting the Fifth Annual Law Rocks San Francisco on Saturday, May 6. Five bands of musically talented legal professionals from ten law firms will rock out for their favorite local charity. The event will be held at The Chapel in the Mission District, and will include a special performance by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Jerry Harrison of the Talking Heads and The Modern Lovers, with his all-star band featuring members of Hole/Courtney Love, Bo Diddley, and Creeper Lagoon. Special guest Matt Pinfield from KFOG, known also from MTV, will emcee the event.

The field is wide open for the competing bands, which includes two bands brand new to Law Rocks. The winning band will be selected by four factors: donations raised, tickets and sponsorships, audience favorite, and Rock Panel of Judges score. There will also be special recognition for the band with the highest marks from the Rock Panel of Judges. The Rock Panel includes the Honorable Laurel Beeler, US Magistrate Judge; Shawn Dailey, professional touring and recording musician and Executive Director of Take Me to the River Education Initiative; Amanda Horn, SVP of Client Services at JND Legal Administration and two-time Law Rocks SF veteran; and Hilary Gevondyan, Associate General Counsel at First Republic Bank and member of the thrice-victorious Law Rocks San Francisco champs, Def Piper.

The concert features legal professionals from Airbnb; Blakely Sokoloff Taylor & Zafman LLP; Cutler Law Group; Fox Rothschild LLP; Farella Braun + Martel LLP; Hanson Bridgett LLP; Kessenick, Gamma & Free; Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP; Peter Logan Law Offices; and Winston & Strawn LLP.

“We are really looking forward to our San Francisco concert,” says Law Rocks Director of Marketing and Development, Omi Crawford. “It will be our first Saturday night Law Rocks in San Francisco and we’re thrilled to have Jerry Harrison and friends performing to close out the night!” The five participating bands are fundraising to benefit area charities ACLU of Northern California; Blue Bear School of Music; Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County Legal Services for Children; Rocket Dog Rescue; and St. Anthony’s San Francisco. Additionally, to support Law Rocks’ mission of promoting music education, the event will raise funds for the Take Me To The River Education Initiative. Both donations and ticket purchases can be made at lawrocks.org/sanfrancisco.

After seeing success from the first concert in London 2009, Law Rocks brought the event to the United States in 2012. As an organization, Law Rocks Global has raised over two million dollars for various nonprofits across the world.  The San Francisco concert is followed by spring events in Austin and London before the fall leg of the 2017 tour.
