It's been a fantastic year for Law Rocks so far. We've had six epic concerts which have raised over $240K for local charities. Even better - we have a dozen concerts yet to come in our 2017 World Tour! Be sure to check out our tour dates to make sure you don't miss us in your city.
There have been some incredible moments to come out of our first concerts of 2017. Scroll down to check out twelve of them!
1. THE JOY OF ROCK
Here is AG/DC from Addleshaw Goddard, who went on to win the David Batcup Award for their rendition of Florence & The Machine's You've Got The Love. The Six of the Best concert was the first Law Rocks of 2017 and benefited KidsOut.
2. A Legend Takes the Stage
We were thrilled to have Jerry Harrison, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and a member of Talking Heads and The Modern Lovers, as a special guest at Law Rocks San Francisco! Jerry was joined by all-star friends from Hole, Bo Diddley, and Creeper Lagoon in a incredible set that benefited the Take Me To The River Education Initiative.
3. FUNKYTOWN
Ocean Park Sound System returned to Law Rocks Los Angeles to funk it up for the Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children. OPSS features legal talent from Raines Feldman and wowed the crow with their high energy set.
4. FOR MANCHESTER
Thursday 25 May 2017, Law Rocks! London at the 100 Club
In founder Nick Child's words, "The poignant moment of the night was when the Dirty Sherlocks played their last song, Don't Look Back In Anger by Oasis, and the whole club sung it in honour and memory of all those affected by the atrocities in Manchester earlier in the week. Simply wonderful reaction by everyone in the venue." The Dirty Sherlocks feature talent from Ashurst.
5. COMING IN HOT!
We were very excited to welcome The Appeals to their first Law Rocks event. They weren't messing around, delivering a great set and raising over $15,000! They rocked out for Loyola Immigrant Justice Clinic and their band featured legal professionals from Vega & Rivera; Perez & Caballero; Law Offices of Gladdys Uribe; Law Offices of Carlos Cruz; Gordon Professional Group; Johnston & Hutchinson.
6. THE BEST OF THE BEST
After intense competition, Totally Without Merit of TWM took home the prize at 6 of the Best in March. Only 3.5 points separated all the bands (the max score is 30) in an extremely tight race. The Rock Panel of Judges had their work cut out for them that night!
7. TAKING IT OUTSIDE
It was a beautiful night in Austin, Texas for our first ever open air concert. Here, Alice in Pearls of Baker Botts and Dell rocks their 90s grunge set for Council on At-Risk Youth. They went on to win the night!
8. VICTORY!
Attractive Nuisance nabbed it's first overall victory at Law Rocks LA this year! Here the Nuisance enjoys their moment on the legendary Whisky stage. Attractive Nuisance stars legal talent from Allen Matkins and Buchalter and rocked for Ketchum Downtown YMCA.
9. Hot Damn is right!
Jones Chase's, Hot Damn! gave quite a performance at our May London concert. The outfits, the bubbles, the t-shirts, the groupies, the music - there was nothing not to love about this set!
10. HEART AND SOUL
The lead singer of Jack Flack belts it out to a patio of fans and the warm spring night. Jack Flack rocked for Austin Clubhouse and featured legal talent from Branscomb.
11. NEW VENUE, GREAT VIBES
Our San Francisco event was held for the first time at The Chapel, a historic 1914 building that was originally built as a mortuary. It was a great fit for Law Rocks! Here, the night's winners, Jimmy's Brother of Farella Braun + Martel and Winston & Strawn, rock their encore for Rocket Dog Rescue.
12. THIS IS HOW WE DO IT
The Fifth Annual Law Rocks Los Angeles at The Whisky a Go Go, Friday, March 24, 2017
In a surprise to us at Law Rocks, here is Matthew Umhofer dropping an original verse about Law Rocks, including shoutouts to Nick Child, our founder. We loved it! Matthew has been a Law Rocks Los Angeles participant since our very first concert. He hails from Spertus, Landes & Umhofer and rocked for Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.
