Host & Rock Panel of Judges
This proud Chicago native is best known for her vocal versatility, boundless energy and magnetic charisma on stage.
During the week, Valerie Ojeda travels the country, working as an Event Emcee, Trade Show Presenter and Automotive Product Specialist, representing top companies like Panasonic, HPE, Microsoft, 3M and Honda, just to name a few.
On weekends, she manages and sings lead vocals for the wildly successful cover band, “Anthem Road,” playing in casinos, resorts, conventions, wineries, private parties and outdoor festivals, throughout the country. Anthem Road has shared the stage with such iconic 80’s bands as Berlin and Warrant, as well as some of the top tribute bands in the world. Valerie’s favorite musical moments to date were meeting rock legends Pat Benatar, Kip Winger, Jerry Dixon and Billy Ocean, as well as singing with Terri Nunn at The Canyon Club and singing the National Anthem before a Slaughter concert. But nothing compares to her experience performing for our U.S. Troops in Kuwait this summer!
For Valerie, being of service is the highest form of consciousness, so being able to give back to local communities, by being a part of Law Rocks, is an absolute dream come true!
ROCK PANEL OF JUDGES
Coming soon…
Meet the Bands
Lawyers by day, rock stars by night. Don’t miss these bands rock The Atlantis for their favorite local nonprofits.
THURSDAY NIGHT
Featuring legal talent from Venable
Rocking for Atlas Network
Capital Heat is a high-energy rock band, which includes members of the legendary, multi-time Law Rocks champion Noise in the Basement. The new lineup includes powerful female vocalists (2 of which are lawyers and one is a Nashville recording artist) and is anchored by dueling lead guitarists from Venable’s DC and Miami offices (hence the name Capital Heat). Expect some killer tunes, a healthy dose of shredding, and an all-around fun time. We are ready to rock for you all!
Featuring legal talent from Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley & Walsh
Rocking for HomeAid National Capital Region
Larry & The LandLawyers is a rock band born from the legal world, featuring three attorneys from Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley & Walsh John Rinaldi, Mark Goetzman, Mike Kieffer, and longtime friend and client Larry Clark of Felice Development Group. The band regularly performs as part of Law Rocks, a global nonprofit concert series that brings together legal professionals to raise money for charitable causes.
Blending legal expertise with musical talent, Larry & The LandLawyers are proud to support organizations making a real impact in the community, including HomeAid Northern Virginia, which builds and renovates shelters for those in need. Known for their energy on stage and commitment off it, the band proves that lawyers can rock — and do good — at the same time.
Featuring legal talent from BakerHostetler; Fish & Richardson; Taft; Stoneturn
Rocking for Catholic Charities Legal Network DC
Malicious Code is back, live, and dangerously unpatched. Last year, they tunneled into LawRocksDC, destroyed all defensive measures, and only left the stage after securing their first LawRocks win. This year, they’re back, louder and even less contained, ready to trigger another incident response across the entire venue. Malicious Code: not technically a threat… but you should definitely report them if spotted live.
Featuring legal talent from Verizon
Rocking for Guitars For Vets
Mostly Whiskey is a stripped-down, two-piece rock outfit that proves you don't actually need a bass player if you turn the guitar amp up loud enough. By day, both members are telecommunications attorneys navigating complex regulatory frameworks on behalf of their clients; by night, they channel their remaining energy into raw, driving Americana rock. They are incredibly excited to play Law Rocks again this year, mostly because it gets them out of the office.
Featuring legal talent from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld
Rocking for Blood Cancer United
Night Work consists of attorneys from the Washington, DC office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, joined by powerhouse vocalist Lindsey Cloud of KNP Communications and Catholic University School of Law. The band's name traces back to firm founder Bob Strauss, who famously told a client: “You’ve given us your night work; now can we have your day work?”
Since then, Night Work has become a Law Rocks favorite, earning Best Overall Band in 2024 and the Judge's Choice Award in 2025. Drawing inspiration from the best of the '70s, '80s, and '90s, the band delivers a high-energy mix of crowd favorites, deep cuts, and the occasional surprise.
Featuring the vocal trio of Matt Nicely, Lindsey Cloud, and J.R. Molm, along with Steve Kho on keys, Brian Pomper on bass, Scott Alberino on drums, and Tom McCarthy on guitar, Night Work blends big vocals, tight musicianship, and just enough lawyerly competitiveness to keep things interesting.
The result is a show built for singing along, turning up the volume, and proving that legal briefs aren't the only things these lawyers know how to deliver.
Featuring legal talent from Willkie Farr & Gallagher; DOJ Appellate Division; Interactive Brokers; Miller Friel; McGuireWoods; International Center for Not-For-Profit Law
Rocking for Gifts For The Homeless
The Precedents are an all-lawyer band with no ringers. They have been playing at charity events for more than 20 years. The band features legal talent from Willkie Farr & Gallagher, Interactive Brokers, McGuire Woods, Miller Friel, the DOJ Appellate Division, and the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law. The Precedents are the band that all other lawyer bands must follow.

FRIDAY NIGHT
Featuring legal talent from White & Case
Rocking for Bread For The City
The Billables are six attorneys and legal professionals from White & Case LLP's Washington DC office who happen to rock. The band – Blair Trahan on vocals, Alec Albright and Jay Campbell on guitar, Jacob Stowell on keys, Isaac Webb on bass, and Matt Solomon on drums – made their live debut at the Black Cat in June 2026, bringing a high-energy mix of 80s-to-2000s rock and pop to the DC stage. Come September, the only verdict that matters is the crowd's!
Featuring legal talent from Law Office of Stacy A. Puente; Bridge Center for Mediation and Dispute Resolution
Rocking for the ACLU of D.C.
The G.O.A.T.s. are BAAAAAACK!
After a few hard years in rock and roll jail, banned from public performance, the band will be released on its own rockognizance for one night only, Friday, September 11: to LAW-ROCK the doors off the Atlantis!
Fundraising for the DC Chapter of the ACLU, join us as we fight for the lawyers who fight for the integrity of our profession and our government.
With gratitude and disruption,
GOATs
Featuring legal talent from Meta; Wireless Infrastructure Association; USTelecom; Lockheed Martin
Rocking for Miriam’s Kitchen
For more than 25 years, Heather's Headache has been writing, recording, and performing original alternative rock, evolving through different eras while staying true to its signature sound. Today, the band features Jozsef Szamosfalvi, Kelly Donohue, Patrick Halley, Jon Babu, and Brandon Heiner —a lineup that blends longtime collaborators with a shared passion for powerful live performances. Together, they continue to build on the band's legacy of melodic, guitar-driven rock, bringing both longtime favorites and new music to audiences.
Featuring legal talent from Maryland Office of the Attorney General; Kator, Parks, Weiser & Wright; Lutzker & Lutzker
Rocking for Young Artists of America
Lex Loco is DC’s most original cover band, delivering power rock and pop anthems with flirtatious swagger and charisma to spare.
From Queen to Britney, these attorneys-by-day-rock-stars-by-night deliver banger after banger to boisterous crowds across the DMV.
People are saying the only thing more dangerous than Lex Loco in legal practice is Lex Loco on stage.
Lex Loco is Lexi Pozonsky (vocals), Arnold Alaniz (guitar), Ethan Barr (guitar and keys), Ryan Farishian (bass), and William Elman (drums). The band will be raising money for Young Artists of America, which offers orchestral and musical theater training for elementary through high school students in the DC area.
Featuring legal talent from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe
Rocking for Free Minds Book Club & Writing Workshop
Sound Counsel returns to the Law Rocks DC stage after a killer debut in 2025 and is bigger and better than ever. Get ready for an eclectic set spanning genres and decades that is sure to bring down the house.
Featuring legal talent from Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia
Rocking for Horton’s Kids
“We’re from the government and we’re here to help” . . . help ROCK THE HOUSE, that is! The Terrifying Words includes lawyers from the Office of Attorney General for the District of Columbia who have come together to bring peace, love, and rock n’ roll to you!
Featuring legal talent from Womble Bond Dickinson
Rocking for Saint Martin’s Outreach
Making their Law Rocks debut, Veronica and the Ramblers bring together a group of music-loving professionals from Womble Bond Dickinson and beyond who share a passion for rock and roll and live music. When they're not practicing law, solving problems, or running businesses, they're turning up the volume and proving that great teamwork extends well beyond the office. They're here for the music, the cause, and the chance to put on a great show. First timers? Yes. Ready to rock? Absolutely.
