Nonprofit Spotlight: Alice Cooper's Solid Rock Teen Centers, Law Rocks Phoenix Music Matters Grant Recipient (2025)

A key component of Law Rocks’ mission is to promote youth music education. In 2023, the Law Rocks Board founded the Music Matters grant, given to a local nonprofit that supports youth music education in each of our US tour cities. Omi Crawford, Executive Director of Law Rocks, says of the grant initiative:

“Law Rocks has always been about championing nonprofits, especially local organizations that make a real difference in their community. The Music Matters grant deepens that commitment, helping support music education organizations nationwide as they change young lives through the power of music. It’s inspiring and exciting to learn more about each organizations work, truly one of the best things about this work!”

Today’s Nonprofit Spotlight is on our 2025 Law Rocks Phoenix Music Matters grant recipient, Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers — an organization that has long been a special part of the Law Rocks Phoenix experience! Over the years, many bands have rocked in support of Solid Rock, and we are pleased to be presenting the organization with a Music Matters grant at the upcoming Sixth Annual Law Rocks Phoenix on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

The organization is celebrating 30 years of making an everlasting difference in the lives of teens. Randy Spencer, Development and Partnerships for Solid Rock, has been instrumental in building the connection with our organization over several years now, and we’re happy to have such a “solid rock” in our like-minded missions to support today’s youth with the power of music. Keep reading to learn what Solid Rock has been up to over this past year as they celebrate a monumental anniversary!

We have added a third teen center in Goodyear, AZ which opened in May 2025.

2) Can you share an example of how your programs or initiatives have positively impacted the community?
We see teens every day receiving music lessons and programs that schools are not providing them. We also see teens increasing their mental health improvement by performing music, receiving music lessons and socializing with other teens as they share music and connection together.

3) Have any new programs or initiatives been introduced that you are particularly excited about?
We have increased our guest performers, workshops and jam sessions this year. Teens have been able to jam on stage with Bernard Fowler (The Rolling Stones), Teddy Zig Zag (Guns N' Roses), Michale Graves (The Misfits) and many others.
